I've been wanting to teach a workshop for ages! And it's finally going to happen!
On Saturday, November 8th, I'll be teaching a workshop titled:
"Spins And Swivels: Tips And Tricks To Stay On Your Feet"
When: November 8th, 6:15 p.m. (right before our 2nd Saturday Social)
Cost: $10 per person (separate from our Saturday Social)
No partner necessary
Dance shoes recommended, or just wear socks.
Cash or check only, please make checks payable to Lisa Spiro
Every dancer reaches this point in their dancing career: the steps are getting harder, and you sometimes feel like you're about to topple over. You begin to realize that there are some techniques you need to learn in order to advance to the next level of dancing.
That's what this workshop is for! A class for all levels, this lesson will incorporate techniques from not only ballroom dancing, but yoga and ballet as well. Everything you learn in this workshop will not only help you improve your ability to spin, but it will also help you maintain good posture and balance in general.
No partners are necessary (most of these exercises will be done on your own).
Dance shoes (ballroom, jazz, ballet, etc.) are strongly recommended, but if you don't have any, either wear shoes with a slippery bottom (something with a suede sole works best), or just wear your socks! We need to be able to spin and swivel our feet in this class, and sneakers, and other shoes with rubber soles, will prevent you from doing so.
Here's the best part: this class is only $10!
While this is a walk-in workshop, I would appreciate knowing that that there will be people attending the class, so I'll be posting a sign-up sheet at the studio. You could also post a comment below or send me an e-mail to let me know you're interested. It's not required, but it's much appreciated.
I hope to see you on Saturday, November 8th!
This one sounds good!
